GN ReSound

GN ReSound

ReSound are yet another hearing aid manufacturer who appreciate the needs of the general hearing aid wearer to not only hear well but to look good in the process!

The be by ReSound is a revolutionary 2008 release featuring Invisible Open Technology (IOT), fitting within the ear canal whilst allowing natural sound still to reach the eardrum.

This combines cosmetic value with powerful performance for the user, and follows the ReSound dot for discretion with clarity of sound.

GN ReSound have also stressed the need for you to receive qualified professional advice and dispensing services in addressing your hearing loss. This is a view that we – as a principle provider of hearing aid audiologist’s services – fully endorse.

Here is an excerpt from their policy statement:-

"...One challenge is the perception that hearing instruments can be easily fit and maintained without the assistance of a qualified and credentialed hearing healthcare professional.

dot by ReSoundAt ReSound, we believe our hearing instruments will only deliver their full benefit to an end-user when they are fit and maintained by a licensed professional...People with hearing loss deserve choices that allow them to find the solution that best meets their individual needs. We believe this is best accomplished through a personal relationship with a licensed professional.

Based on this, ReSound will no longer knowingly supply hearing instruments to retailers that do not provide face-to-face fitting, counselling and maintenance as part of their hearing instrument package. As a consumer we want you to be aware so that you may make a decision as an informed health care consumer.

Ed's note: Regional Hearing Services insist on providing a full hearing test before agreeing to supply and fit any hearing aid. The test is free, lasts about an hour and can be arranged by calling FREE on 0800 612 7992(ref: WB RH 02).
